SWIFT SEDAN

Well, there is a lot of hush-hush stuff going on about launching the sedan version of the bright red :) -(irrespective of the color - i call it the bright red - hope some of you caught that). So I thought it would be useful for me to share some pics of the proposed swift sedan which is likely to hit our country late 07. But those of us who happen to be in Europe may already have one.

So here are a couple of pictures of the new sedan. Drop a line if you have some thoughts around this. What I hear from my friends at Suzuki is that the top end of the sedan that's likely to be launched in India would have double sunroof (http://www.marutiudyog.com/bp/mga.asp?ch=2&ct=10&sc=2) check this link for Suzuki accessories in India.

Did you know that the SWIFT that's sold in Latin America is a lot different than the one in UK and India - hmmm...i think i'd post more about that later

cheers

COOL RACING STRIPES

I have been in love with the racing stripes since the FORD GT (remember the blue and white - which in the 80s gave ferrari a run for its money) Anyway, I always wanted offset racing stripes but i havent come across many cars that can carry offset stripes so I chose the center stripes. So here is what i did very recently (no points for guessing which car is mine, No its not the DODGE Viper - i wish it were). And coincidently my neighbor who also had a a bright red parked next to mine - it was nice to take a 'relative' picture. While my bright red continues to be bright and very red - I added a dash of white stripes to give a little personality to the "bad boy". As I mentioned in my previous post that i wanted a red mini cooper with whites strips and i couldn't get it for obvious reasons -

a. lack of availability in the local market
b. the cost factor (this is more of a factor :) - but what the heck..)

so i got my stripes from (http://www.edecals.com/Flags/rallyst.htm?source=home) and these guys do a good job. I got them made to my cars specifications. Mind you custom service doesn't come cheap :P). You can also get them from http://www.mightystripes.com/. Application is pretty smooth and simple.

Anyway, while you look at this and share your pics - i am scouting for more cool stuff for my swift...

THE BRIGHT RED "SWIFT"

When we hear "BRIGHT RED" - Ferrari is the first name that comes to us (hereafter referred to as car enthusiasts :) ). Well, we can only enthusiastically talk about the Ferrari(www.ferrari.com) cos Enzo wasn't thinking of us when he developed his cars.Anyway, let me not digress - so this blog is dedicated to the tribe who happily own a red swift. And i am one happy 'swifter' who has thoroughly enjoyed the bright red ever since I got "her" in April 2006. I am not even sure if its a "her" or the "bad boy" guess each one of you would assign a gender or a name to the bright red. I would be happy to hear your stories about the bright red of your life.

Well it all started in Feb 06 when I moved back to India and was deciding on which car to buy - my obvious choice in color was RED but wasn't too sure of the make. I seriously contemplated on buying a Honda City, Civic (which was yet to be launched), Ford Fiesta and almost bought the Ford (although i was a tad disappointed that it didn't come in bright red). But then I wasn't convinced if a sedan like city/fiesta would suit my style - No offence to any who own these vehicles - i find them a bit boring - my idea of fun is not travelling in a car with 5 family members - I'd rather choose something smaller and peppy and the car that I always wanted was a RED mini cooper with white racing stripes (www.mini.co.uk, www.miniusa.com etc) - and SWIFT came close in appearance and look and feel and THAT and ONLY THAT was a factor in my decision to buy my bright red swift.
I will keep this blog active and keep posting new pics, comments and useful tips for the swift owners :).
Have a good one
